Preserving The Future Of The Great Dane

2011 Futurity Judge Name Suggestion

Brian Witmier of Brinlann Great Danes

Fellow Dane Lovers, Exhibitors, and Friends,

As we’re sure you are all aware, we are being asked to submit our choices for potential judges for the GDCA 2011 National Specialty and Futurity. We, the members of the Great Dane Club of Central Pennsylvania, would like for you all to consider putting down Brian Witmier of Brinlann Great Danes as a potential candidate for the futurity judge.

Brian’s passion for this majestic breed spans almost 30 years. He was mentored by Anna Mary Kauffman of Mountdania Danes and other well-established breeders on the East coast.  At Brinlann, Brian does extensive health testing before any of the dogs are used for breeding. He strives to produce the best physically and mentally sound animals possible. Brian has had several danes reach the 14 year old mark as some of you may have seen one of them at the 2007 National Parade of title holders! Temperament is a very large concern as his theory is they should indeed be Gentle Giants.

Brian has bred numerous quality fawn and brindle litters over the years and has several Champions to date with many more currently pointed. Many of his danes throughout the years have also been therapy dogs that make multiple visits to local nursing homes and regularly visit the elementary school where his wife Leigh Ann teaches.

Still all and all he does love the show ring competition and usually owner handles his own dogs and some that he has sold and/or co-owns. Brian recently campaigned BISS CH ShillRest SureFire One N'Only who is co-owned with Rita Suddarth. Rowdy was the 2007 GDCA Top 20 Winner and is a proven sire with Champions, Best in Sweepstakes and major pointed puppies on the ground.

Brian has judged numerous Sweepstakes and Match shows for Great Danes as well as the Working and Non-Sporting groups.  Brian is the former Vice-President and a current Board member of the Great Dane Club of Central Pennsylvania. He is situated on several acres out in the countryside of Northeastern PA where the dogs and numerous other critters have plenty of room to stretch their legs.  He owns a boarding facility called Stoneledge Boarding Kennel as well as a grooming shop and pet supply store known as the Pet Barn.

We know that he would be greatly honored to judge the Futurity if he was given the opportunity, so please consider casting your vote for Brian Witmier as one of your choices for a futurity judge.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Danefully,
